6 Tips to Help You Move and Store Your Items

1. Label your boxes. Be sure to include what is in the box and its appropriate location.

2. Clearly mark boxes with breakable items as "Fragile."

3. Start early! Don't wait until the last minute. This only produces stress and causes you to pack inefficiently. Take your time and keep your items organized. This will save a lot of time in the future.

4. Prepare your supplies in advance. Make sure you have boxes, tissue paper, and tape before you are ready to begin packing your items. Please call us if you would like for us to supply these items.

5. Pack heavy items in small boxes and light items in large boxes.

6. Be careful to keep any items or boxes not intended for storage in a clearly defined separate location.

Tips to Help You Move and Store Specific Items

Sofas and Mattresses
The Mango Storage experts recommend using one of our polythene sofa and mattress covers or putting the sofa cushions into a box. Our moving team can bring these supplies on the day of your move and wrap these items for you. The Mango Storage team can use our blankets on the day of the move as well.

Refrigerators and Freezers
Empty and defrost your refrigerator and freezer the day before storing. Fridges should always be carried as close to upright as possible, as opposed to horizontally. When your refrigerator is delivered back to you, Mango Storage recommends leaving it unplugged for 4 to 8 hours, which allows the gases to settle.

Television, Computers and Electrical Equipment
Mango Storage recommends bubble wrapping your television, computers and electrical equipment. If they are bubble wrapped well, this can be sufficient for storing. However, if they fit in a box, we recommend boxing them and if possible using the original packaging.

Pictures, Paintings, and Mirrors
Pictures, paintings, and mirrors should be bubble wrapped and boxed.
